6 Full-time 1 hour ago Full Job Description Griffin Georgia 10003BR Job description and requirements SUMMARY The Front Man will be responsible for informing the operator of any visible quality issues while managing the front side of the press.
Key focus of this position includes ensuring rolls are labeled and packaged correctly.
Assisting Operator/ Back Man on changeovers and supporting safety, quality, and housekeeping.
BASIC RESPONSIBILITIES Basic Tasks Wearing required PPE, including but not limited to safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection Completing a minimum of two behavior observation/near miss report each month Following Safe Quality Food procedures, including but not limited to hair restraint, hand washing, designated food and drink areas, jewelry, and proper storage of personal items Ensuring machine guarding (i.
e.
lockout/tagout, E-stops, light curtains, pressure mats, etc.
) is in place and in proper working condition Following all ergonomic requirements of position, including but not limited to lifting, carrying, bending, climbing, and reaching Maintaining clean and organized work environment and 5S tool board Completing daily equipment care Sets the example of safe operation by following established safety guidelines and holds self and others accountable to safety standards Specific Responsibilities Entering product information into Shop Floor Must know how enter roll information into shop floor to print out correct roll and pallet labels including rework, waste, etc.
Operation of the Rewinder Positioning cores on a shaft according to measurements (core alignment) Reading of the work order/job jacket including formulas to calculate number of cores, slip sheet etc.
Understanding packaging specifications Operating core-cutter Be familiar with quality standards Communicating with the operator and back man to report any safety and/or quality issues Assisting Operator and Back Man during a change over Quality Responsibilities Follow all procedures to produce a quality product and comply with the TC Transcontinental Good Management Practices policies, including but not limited to housekeeping, waste management, record retention, document control, SQF and 5S policies Issue and record raw materials; ensure correct materials are used for each work order STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE Meets production metrics (% performance to production plan) Meets quality metrics (number of complaints) Meets waste metrics (waste %) Occurrences of Rework for core alignment Soft skills (e.
g.
